our stories

Cricket PNG's next generation of cricket stars is currently in Australia preparing to take on the brightest young talent in Australian cricket at the Cricket Australia Under 19 National Championships in Brisbane from December 14-21.

The PNG 'Siales' will feature a mix of youth and experience, with seven Under 19 and seven Under 23 players to go up against representative teams from all Australian States and Territories (aside from NT). The Siales have been in Australia since December 6 for a week-long schedule of training and practice matches prior to the Championships.

This tour to Australia is part of wider support that Cricket PNG receives through PacificAus Sports, which is developing pathways for Pacific cricketers to compete in elite competition and access high performance coaching in Australia and internationally. The program promotes greater inclusion of women and girls in cricket in the Pacific, and further strengthens Australia and the Pacific’s close regional ties through a shared love of sports.

The Cricket Australia Under 19 National Championships will consist of a series of T20 matches, followed by two rounds of 50-Over matches, and then finals on the last day. The Siales' full fixture can be found below:
